The nominations for the 60th annual Primetime Emmys are in, as Neil Patrick Harris and Kristen Chenoweth revealed the hot contenders from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at 5:40 a.m.! The HBO series "John Adams" lead the nomination list with a total of 23 nods, followed by NBC's "30 Rock" with 17 nominations and AMC's "Mad Men" with 16. "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Entourage," "The Office," "30 Rock " and  "Two and a Half Men"  are in contention for Outstanding Comedy Series, while "Boston Legal," "Damages," "Dexter," " Lost," "Mad Men" and  "House" will face off in the Outstanding Drama Series category. Nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series were James Spader for ABC's "Boston Legal," Bryan Cranston for AMC's "Breaking Bad," Michael C. Hall for Showtime's "Dexter," Hugh Laurie for FOX's "House," Gabriel Byrne for HBO's "In Treatment" and Jon Hamm for "Mad Men." In the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category, Sally Field is nominated for ABC's "Brothers & Sisters," Glenn Close for "Damages," Mariska Hargitay for NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Holly Hunter for TNT's "Saving Grace" and Kyra Sedgwick for TNT's "The Closer." Alec Baldwin picked up a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for NBC's "30 Rock, joining Charlie Sheen for CBS's "Two and a Half Men," Tony Shalhoub for USA's "Monk," Lee Pace for "Pushing Daisies" and Steve Carell for "The Office." Sheen reacted to the early morning news by expressing admiration for the show's other nominees. “I’m extremely proud of our show. I’m flattered and honored to be nominated, and as usual, I am more excited for my fellow 'Two and a Half Men' nominees.” Vanessa Williams, who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, said she too is in good company in the category. "I'm happy to be nominated amongst such an amazing group of women. I'm a huge fan of all of their work." The nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series were Tina Fey for "30 Rock," Christina Applegate for "Samantha Who?," Julia Louis-Dreyfus for CBS's "The New Adventures Of Old Christine," America Ferrera for ABC's "Ugly Betty" and Mary-Louise Parker for Showtime's "Weeds." Four out of the five nominees for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series were from "30 Rock," including Rip Torn, Will Arnett, Steve Buscemi and Tim Conway. Also nominated in the category was Shelley Berman for "Curb Your Enthusiasm." On his nomination, Torn said: "In comedy, the most important thing is the people you're acting with. Working with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, you're more than halfway there." Other nominees in that category include Kristin Chenoweth for ABC's "Pushing Daisies," Jean Smart for ABC's "Samantha Who?," Amy Poehler for NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and Holland Taylor for "Two and a Half Men." For the first time ever, an Emmy will be awarded for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program. In contention are Ryan Seacrest for FOX's "American Idol," Tom Bergeron for ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," Howie Mandel for NBC's "Deal Or No Deal," Heidi Klum for Bravo's "Project Runway" and Jeff Probst for CBS's "Survivor."

‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Back for More

"The Insider" has learned that "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" has been picked up for a third season. The reality show has proved popular among women18-34. "E! viewers have embraced the Kardashian family and the series has become one of television's most talked about shows," Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Series Development Lisa Berger tells ET. "We are fortunate to work with [Ryan] Seacrest and Bunim-Murray who have an exceptional ability to capture the Kardashians' hilarious, chaotic and always entertaining personalities and family dynamics. There is never a shortage on drama and we are certain the new season will be another wild ride." The third season will debut at the beginning of next year.
