"The Insider" has your "Dancing with the Stars" scoop!

Although Monday night's episode of "Dancing with the Stars" opened with STEVE GUTTENBERG taking a comical traipse around the dance floor doing the "mango" with JONATHAN ROBERTS, it ended with him saying goodbye to the celeb dancing competition.

After it was announced that "The Gutte," as he became known on the show, and his partner ANNA TREBUNSKAYA had gotten the axe, the affable movie actor said the program "made [him] a better person." While he noted that he'd miss the friends he'd made in the competition, the star of such films as 'Police Academy,' 'Diner' and 'Three Men and a Baby' proclaimed: "I have a wonderful family and friends and I have a wonderful life."

Tuesday night's results show also included two performances by Aussie pop sensation KYLIE MINOGUE. In addition, despite a neck injury earlier in the day that resulted in a trip to the hospital, professional dancer DEREK HOUGH was able to appear with his partner SHANNON ELIZABETH.

She plan's on dedicating Friday's show to her departed dog Sophie.

This Friday's episode of "The OPRAH WINFREY Show," an investigation into puppy mill abuses, will be in memory of Oprah's beloved dog SOPHIE, who died of kidney failure last month, the Associated Press reports. The show is "for anybody anywhere who loves a dog, has ever loved a dog, or just cares about their basic right to humane treatment," Oprah says of the broadcast.

Special correspondent LISA LING will reveal the "horrific" and "haunting" conditions endemic to some puppy mills. And Lady O herself pledges her emphatic support for shelter pet adoptions:

"I would never, ever adopt another pet now without going to a shelter to do it. I am a changed woman after seeing this show," she says. And of her recently departed cocker spaniel Sophie, who the show is dedicated to, Oprah says: "Sophie gave me 13 years of unconditional love. She was a true love in my life."

It was a DOLLY PARTON special when the Final 9 performed songs made famous by the country queen on Tuesday night's "American Idol" performance show.

The night's bright stars included DAVID COOK, CARLY SMITHSON, DAVID ARCHULETA and MICHAEL JOHNS.

BROOKE WHITE was the first up. Dolly commented on the 24-year-old from Mesa, AZ: "There is an honesty about her that I really like." Brooke took the stage with her guitar and sang, "Jolene." RANDY JACKSON pointed out, "I definitely think this kind of music favors your voice. Not a stellar performance, but it was all right." PAULA ABDUL said, "What is great about you is you are consistent. You put your heart and soul in each song. I think that is what record companies and executives want." A court is set to rule on will rule on whether she can.

MADONNA hopes to finalize her adoption of Malawi toddler DAVID BANDA next week, when she's expected to arrive in the south Africa country to learn the court's final verdict on the matter, Reuters reports. David has been living with the pop star and her husband GUY RITCHIE in London for the past two years.

The pop star has been under fire regarding the adoption, however, because some human rights groups in Malawi have said they are concerned the government cut legal corners to fast-track the adoption due to her celebrity. The Material Mom's lawyers deny the allegations.

Madonna and husband GUY RITCHIE met David at an orphanage in Malawi on what they said was a humanitarian mission to help orphans in the southern African nation. The child's mother had died, and his father initially voiced some questions about the adoption process, but later said he supported it.
